I get most of my inspiration from animals and the natural world. I gather inspiration from my travels as well. About five years ago I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of prospecting for gold in the Rockies. The five trips I’ve taken since then always start out the same – a mad, feverish race against time to prepare for a cross country gold mining tour, and then digging a ridiculous amount of sand and gravel and cobble stones and boulders. The trips end up becoming epic voyages of adventure and discovery…with a golden lining.
My most recent trip started the same as the ones before but, after finding little gold, became the fulfillment of another dream – to be a full time artist. I can finally dedicate my full attention to the evolution of my work and the honoring of Mother Nature.
